Film Review: Command Performance

Starring: Dolph Lundgren, Melissa Ann Smith
Directed by: Dolph Lundgren
So today at Best Buy, I picked up Dolph’s new Direct-To-DVD movie, “Command Performance”.
Here is my review:
Plot/Synopsis: Joe’s rock n’ roll band is about to open a huge show in Russia for an American pop star, named, Venus. Joe is a drummer for the band which his band just got offered a record deal by Venus, the pop star. As Venus, hits the stage to perform, Russian terrorists began to take over the concert arena. Killing almost everyone including the audience at random. The terrorist holds Venus, the Russian President, and the presidents two little daughters hostage for ransom. Joe is the only civilian left in the concert arena and now it’s all up to him on how to survive. Joe also teams up with a Russian F.S.B. agent.
Only thing though, Joe won’t use guns because he is afraid of them, he would only fight with his bare hands. The reason is, he used to be in a biker gang in his past and his brother was murdered by Colombians in front of his face. Joe, now must rescue the hostages and kill the terrorist leader, Coleg.
Judging by the plot/synopsis of the film, I thought the film was going to be kind of stupid. I bought it ’cause I was a fan of Dolph and was curious to see it, ’cause it looked like a pretty good action ride.
It was a fun action movie, but it was more than that. It turned out to be a serious film, something like this can happen in real life. The film was shot with cheap 35mm cameras, very low budget film, it was paid for $4 million. The movie was actually shot in Russia.
I have never seen any of Dolph’s straight to DVD movies in the past, but I was actually pretty impressed with, “Command Performance”. It actually had a good story. It was pretty gripping and unpredictable in fact. Some impressive fight scenes and some humor throughout.
I can see that Dolph’s film making style is very similar to Sly Stallone, so you can tell that Dolph learned his film making from Sly mostly. Just because a movie goes straight to DVD doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s not that the studio doesn’t want it go to theater. Maybe the director, Dolph, doesn’t care to make it go to theater. Dolph just makes movies just for the love of making movies, not caring if his movies go to theater or not.
I kind of wished this movie DID get a nationwide theater release ’cause I can see this film doing well in the box office. Oh well, I’m sure this film will sell well on DVD anyways.
Dolph is gonna do great in “The Expendables” when that movie hits theaters. It’s going to be awesome to see Dolph back on the big screen finally when “Expendables” hits the theater.
Dolph’s “Command Performance” kicks total ass. I fuckin’ loved it! Great work Dolph!
Score for “Command Performance” = **** (4 stars as in “Excellent”)

Brock slams Rihanna’s interview on “Good Morning America”, sorry but she’s a stupid b*tch, no wonder she got what she got!

I used to feel sorry for Rihanna, that Chris beat her face in. Not anymore after seeing her ridiculous interview on “Good Morning America” with Diane Sawyer.
First off, it’s pretty silly that she went on there to look all beautiful and gorgeous, wearing too much make up and all. Yes, too much make up.
Secondly, she made a lot of ridiculous and stupid comments throughout her interview.
Lets take some of the comments she says in the interview and I’ll respond to them…
“I am strong. This happened to me. I didn’t cause this. I didn’t do it. This happened to me and it can happen to anybody.”
Well, Riri, there had to be a reason why Chris did it. You must of “DID” something to piss him off really badily. If you pissed him off for whatever reason, that is “causing” something. And you don’t need to say “it happened to me” repeatedly. You are not strong, because you didn’t bother doing anything to prevent this from happening when you easily could have. You didn’t bother doing whatever it took to get Chris behind bars where he belongs, yet he is doing community work. Riri, is a liar.
“That’s embarrassing that’s the type of person I fell in love with…”
Well, Riri, I’m sure you still love him and dyin’ to get back to him.
“People put me on an unrealistic pedestal…”
That’s because you are unrealistic.
“Get out of love. F love…because Love is so blind…”
Who is your ghost writer for this interview, Riri? Is this your shot at some acting skills for an acting career? You have no right to tell women to stop falling in love. It’s all about finding the right person. We know you have a new album coming out and the only reason you’re speaking out on this is to help promote your new record. You don’t care about anything but that. Riri will fall in love with another guy, pretty quick.
I’m no longer a fan of Riri. This whole Riri vs. Chris Brown thing is going too far. I don’t support men beating women, beating a woman is never cool, but after seeing this interview, I can see why a woman like her would drive him mad. I’m not defending Chris but being realistic.

Johnny Cash tribute show in Greenwich tonight…

Tonight in my hometown of Greenwich at a restaurant/bar called, the “111″ there is a Johnny Cash tribute show tonight at 8 p.m. The music will be played by Harold Ford and the Cash Band. They will be playing nothing but Johnny Cash tunes.
Since I’m a huge fan of Johnny Cash, I’m going to see the show tonight. I am also bringing my video camera to video tape the show.
See Harold Ford’s website here, you can hear him sing Johnny Cash songs in MP3’s on his site, and his music is almost a pretty close match to the real Johnny Cash.

I’m looking forward to the show tonight. I will video tape it and throw it in youtube.
It’s gonna be a fun show.

Edit: I just called the ‘111′ to see if tickets are still available, unfortunately, the show is sold out, so I won’t be going. Bummer!
Celebs really do read and reply to real people in twitter…
Ya know, Twitter is a great site. I was getting annoyed with it at first, trying to send twitter messages to famous people in twitter and not getting a response back yet. I know I bashed the site saying that celebrity twitter is fake, that they don’t read and reply to anybody there, that they think they are bigger than twitter. I guess I am wrong.
Real celebs, and actual famous people that run their Twitter do reply to their fans. They see that site as an opportunity to interact with fans online. Celebs don’t reply to fans in myspace or facebook, but they do reply to fans in twitter.
They are really running their accounts, so if you leave them a message with an @ reply, they’ll be able to see it.
Celebs may not reply to every message and they may not reply right away but you’ll be lucky enough to get a response by them.
It does happen and celeb twitter is real.
I’m new to the site so it takes me a while to learn it.

Report: Eminem to star the leading role in “Shady Talez” horror film…

Eminem will star the leading role in another film called, “Shady Talez”, which looks to be a horror film. Eminem doesn’t star in leading roles in films much. His last big screen role was 2002’s “8 Mile” (pictured above). “Shady Talez” is described as The Twilight Zone meets Creepshow.
Although the article doesn’t explain the plot to “Shady Talez”, sounds like it’s another one of those films that has more than one short stories. Is Marshall Mathers playing the storyteller?
More on it here:
Very cool. I’m glad Eminem is starring the leading role in a new film finally. He’s actually a good actor in the movies as I fucking LOVED, “8 Mile”. “8 Mile” is one of my favorite films.

Report: Aerosmith is thinking about replacing Steven Tyler…

Oh no, Joe Perry is really upset with Steven Tyler, big time. Perry is furious with Tyler lately that he is actually thinking about replacing a new lead singer for, Aerosmith.
Aerosmith has been together for way over 20 years. They’ve been together long before they were signed too. Aerosmith without Steven Tyler?
Perry wants Tyler to get his act together and get clean and healthy if they want the band to survive.
More on it here:

What do you think about this? Aerosmith without the iconic frontman? Wanna know my thoughts?
I’d say go for it!
If Alice In Chains is going on without Layne Staley, I don’t see why not either?
Joe Perry must be smoking on something if he says, “if anyone’s willing to do it”. Of course, anyone would love this opportunity to sing for Aerosmith. I’m sure there are plenty of singers out there that can sing like an exact match to Tyler’s vocals.

Report: Chris Jericho in trouble for using gay slur at Horror Film Festival in Sacramento…

First Chris Jericho gets away with beating up female fans after a RAW show in Canada a while back, now the wrestler is getting himself into more trouble. Chris Jericho, the WWE Superstar, attended the Horror Film Festival in Sacramento, California where he had a speech on stage there in front of an audience. Using his usual wrestler heel persona he used gay slurs in hopes of TMZ posting his name all over the website, which that exactly happened. TMZ is now all about Chris Jericho.
http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/05/chris-jericho-wee-racial-slurs-wrestling-statement/
GLAAD does not accept his apology and reported the incident to Vince McMahon, chairman of the WWE.
http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/05/glaad-to-jericho-thanks-for-hollow-apology/
Whose side am I on? Definitely Jericho’s! When Jericho said TMZ would be all over it if he did something controversial, Jericho did it as a joke. He was making a point that if celebrities did something controversial, the media would be all over it, that’s why he brought Paris Hilton’s name into his speech. When he said, “It’s apple juice f*gs, post it all over TMZ, Chris Jericho, Chris Jericho, Chris Jericho…go ahead post it”.
I thought it was pretty funny, it made me laugh. Vince McMahon won’t fire or suspend Chris for this, Vinnie Mac would love it and say that Jericho is doing a good job at being the wrestler badguy like he always is.
I mean, Jericho never lost respect from his fans after the Film Festival because here he is meeting fans after the show.

Dolph Lundgren’s “Command Performance” on DVD/Blu Ray now!!!
Dolph Lundgren’s “Command Performance”, a straight to DVD movie is out on DVD/Blu Ray in stores now. I think I will buy the DVD this week, I’m interested in seeing the film. This movie was released on Nov. 3rd, the same day that Dolph’s birthday is on. So yeah, Dolph has a very good reason to celebrate his birthday about! That was another reason he appeared on Conan O’ Brien, to help promote this film that was just released on his birthday.

Although this film looks goofy and silly, it looks like a blast to watch with lots of action.

Cool Video: Lunic at the Dublin Underground in Albany…
Here is Lunic performing at a club called the Dublin Underground in Albany. This place used to be called Savannah’s, but now this place has new owners.
This is a song called, “Oh no Yoko” by Lunic and it rocks. Tight performance. Katie Paige is the best at mixing rock n’ roll with a violin.
The band, Acoustic Trauma, plays rock n’ roll with a violin too, but no offense, I’m not really a fan of those guys anymore, simply because their drummer Chris, no longer plays with them. Lunic is better than them.
It’s good to see Randy having fun again and he definitely looks happy as hell playing in this band.
I have never worshipped a local band this big before. Lunic is the Led Zeppelin of Albany NY!!!!!!
